Moselle, Grand Est, France

What happened

At around 10 p.m., two witnesses watched a very bright phenomenon for a few seconds. The object was circular and fluorescent in colour, and it left red and yellow trails behind it. It moved quickly without changing its shape or its direction, but it seemed to be losing altitude. It then disappeared into the landscape.

No further information could be gathered about the phenomenon. GEIPAN therefore classified the case as C, meaning there was not enough data to offer an explanation.
