Sighting in Sérénac, November 10, 2015

Tarn, Occitanie, France

Sighting on November 10, 2015 in Sérénac (Tarn, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

At around 7 p.m., the witness was outside near their home when a coloured glow in the clear sky caught their eye. For two to three seconds, they watched a luminous object cross the sky in a straight line, without a sound. It showed two vivid colours, a fluorescent green and a pastel orange. It passed at the height of the top of a fir tree at the end of the garden, then over the house, and went out of the witness's sight. No trail was noticed.

Only one account was collected. The GEIPAN considered the observation strange. A drone could not be ruled out, but that would be surprising given the darkness at that hour and the isolated position of the few houses nearby. However, the sighting was too brief, about three seconds, and there was no further information, such as a photo or another witness. The amount of information was therefore too low, given how strange the event was, to allow a proper investigation. The GEIPAN classified the case as category C, insufficient data.
