Sighting in Seyssinet-Pariset, May 10, 1982

Isère, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France

Sighting on May 10, 1982 in Seyssinet-Pariset (Isère, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

A witness noticed an unusual flying object in the sky. For about 45 seconds, they could make out a rectangular panel whose brightness changed depending on how the sun struck it. The object kept a steady course from north to south and then vanished into the landscape.

The searches carried out afterwards turned up nothing more about the phenomenon: no physical trace and no other witness account. GEIPAN's conclusion was that the witness had seen a reflective panel, but the case is classified C, as the available data are insufficient to settle the matter.
