What happened

Between 6:45 and 7:00 p.m., two witnesses saw a light-blue luminous ball cross the sky very quickly on a vertical path. It left a trail of yellow-orange sparks behind it. The whole event lasted only two to three seconds and was completely silent.

Based on the witnesses' description, the GEIPAN favored the hypothesis of an atmospheric re-entry. The case was classified B, meaning probably identified, as a probable observation of an atmospheric re-entry.
