Sighting in Venon, October 15, 1976

Isère, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France

Sighting on October 15, 1976 in Venon (Isère, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

A single witness gave a very brief account of what they saw at about 5:55 pm: a luminous object crossing the sky from south to north. It later appeared to them as a large cigar-shaped object, still moving without any sound. It finally disappeared heading northeast.

No other testimony was gathered about this phenomenon. With too little information available, GEIPAN could not take the case any further and classified it C (insufficient data). Its conclusion is limited to the observation of a moving luminous phenomenon.
