Sighting in Vezzani, April 27, 1980

France

Sighting on April 27, 1980 in Vezzani (France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

At around 12:30 a.m., a witness was about to go back indoors when they noticed an unusual phenomenon: a red-orange ball, about the size of a football, coming toward them. It stopped roughly five metres from the house and shone intensely, with a metallic gleam.

The witness woke other people in the home, who then saw the glowing ball as well. Frightened, they all decided to go back to bed. The next day, no suspicious trace was noticed in front of the door. No other testimony about the phenomenon was collected.

GEIPAN classified the case as C: it was an observation of a luminous ball on the ground, but the available information is too limited to draw further conclusions.
