Sighting in Albas, June 2, 2011

Aude, Occitanie, France

Sighting on June 2, 2011 in Albas (Aude, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

A witness was out walking in the Corbières hills at around 6:15 pm when they noticed three objects above the valley. The objects were white, metallic in appearance, and spinning rapidly on themselves. After about a minute, all three vanished into the clouds.

GEIPAN's investigation rated the case as moderately strange but of low reliability: the witness's exact position and the directions in which the phenomenon moved were both imprecise. No independent testimony or cross-checking could be obtained. With too little information to reach a firm conclusion, the case was classified C (insufficient data).
