Sighting on September 27, 2001 in Saint-Laurent-de-la-Salanque (Pyrénées-Orientales, France). After investigation, GEIPAN considers this phenomenon unexplained (class D).

What happened

In the middle of the night, at 2:14 a.m., a witness saw a large triangular object pass by at high speed. The sighting lasted between 7 and 10 seconds. The object looked much bigger than an aircraft and moved without making any noise. Its speed seemed to be two to three times that of an aircraft, and the witness put its altitude at between 600 and 700 metres.

The shape was dark, with a phosphorescent-looking light at each of its extremities.

Following the investigation, GEIPAN could find no explanation for the phenomenon. The case is classified D (unexplained).
