Sighting in Blagnac, February 6, 2009

Haute-Garonne, Occitanie, France

Sighting on February 6, 2009 in Blagnac (Haute-Garonne, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

A witness gave a very brief account of seeing a point of light in the sky that changed colour back and forth between yellow and red. The sighting lasted three to four minutes. The light then faded away gradually over the Bouconne forest. In its conclusion, the GEIPAN described it as the rapid passage of a point of light moving at very high speed.

The GEIPAN asked the witness to provide an official statement (procès-verbal), but they did not respond. Without it, no meaningful investigation could be carried out. The case was classified C, meaning the available data were insufficient to reach a conclusion.
