What happened

At around 11:40 pm, a witness noticed a bright, spherical object in the sky that caught their attention. It moved from west to east and passed over their home.

The GEIPAN investigation concluded that the witness had most likely seen the International Space Station. It crossed the sky from the west-southwest toward the east, passing almost directly overhead at the observation site between 11:34 and 11:38 pm. The case was classified A: the object was the ISS passing over.
