Sighting in Eauze, January 21, 2010
Gers, Occitanie, France
Sighting on January 21, 2010 in Eauze (Gers, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).
What happened
The witness was driving along the N524 towards Eauze at about 5:15 p.m. when they noticed an object above a hill. It was spherical, metallic in appearance and dark grey, and its surface seemed to be made up of hexagons. It looked stationary, but it swayed from side to side. After ten to fifteen seconds of observation, it vanished instantly.
No other witness account was collected.
GEIPAN rated the case as having medium to high strangeness, because of the object's unusual appearance and its instantaneous disappearance. Its consistency, however, was medium to low: the exact place of the observation is uncertain, the duration was very short, and there was only one witness. Because of the lack of information and corroboration, the case was classified C (insufficient data).
