Sighting in La Haye-Pesnel, May 14, 1994

Manche, Normandie, France

Sighting on May 14, 1994 in La Haye-Pesnel (Manche, France). GEIPAN considers the phenomenon probably identified (class B).

What happened

At around 9:20 pm, four witnesses watched an oval-shaped object moving across the sky. They followed it, photographed it and filmed it as it moved.

Later, pieces of balloons along with cards were found in a nearby field and in the neighbouring canton. The cards came from a balloon-launching contest for children, run from England.

GEIPAN concluded that the phenomenon observed was most likely one of these balloons. The case is classified B (probably identified).
