What happened

At around 12:30 a.m., six people saw a large number of luminous balls in the sky, spinning around and sweeping across the horizon.

The investigation established that the phenomenon came from an advertising searchlight being tested in the car park of a nearby dance club. This type of device projects thirty beams of light that rotate and sweep the horizon. GEIPAN classified the case as A: the sighting was explained by the searchlight under test.
