Pyrénées-Orientales, Occitanie, France

Sighting on February 23, 1981 in Le Soler (Pyrénées-Orientales, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

A witness who was leaving their home noticed two large luminous balls in the sky. For a few seconds they gave off a very intense, blinding light. Very surprised, the witness saw the balls light up again a few seconds later in the very same spot, and then vanish for good.

The witness states that since the sighting they have had health problems, including constant tiredness and episodes of feeling unwell.

No other testimony was gathered about the phenomenon. Because of the lack of information, GEIPAN classified the case as C (insufficient data) and described it as two stationary luminous balls.
