Sighting in Moyenmoutier, December 1992

Vosges, Grand Est, France

Sighting in December 1992 in Moyenmoutier (Vosges, France). GEIPAN considers the phenomenon probably identified (class B).

What happened

Over several nights around 23 December 1992, a witness watched from home, together with their spouse, several very bright points of light whose colour kept changing. During one of these observations, the witness reported that the points suddenly shifted position.

The GEIPAN investigation concluded that the witness had probably mistaken two stars of the winter sky for something unusual, identified as Aldebaran and Gamma. The reported sudden changes of position could not be confirmed. The case was classified B, meaning probably identified.
