Morbihan, Bretagne, France

Sighting on July 27, 1981 in Ploërmel (Morbihan, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

At around 11:30 p.m., two witnesses noticed two points of light in the sky. The lights moved side by side along parallel paths, then changed course and returned to where they had started. The sighting lasted about ten minutes, during which the two points made several back-and-forth movements. In the end, they suddenly sped off toward the west and disappeared. The witnesses heard no noise at any point during the observation.

No other testimony about this phenomenon was collected. The GEIPAN concluded that it was an observation of two points of light changing direction. Because there was not enough information to go on, the case was classified C (insufficient data).
