Sighting on March 25, 1976 in Thuir (Pyrénées-Orientales, France). After investigation, GEIPAN considers this phenomenon unexplained (class D).

What happened

At around 2:30 p.m., a driver and their passengers saw a bright object in the sky moving from east to west. It looked large and was oval in shape, with a dome on top. The witnesses kept it in view for about a minute before it vanished suddenly.

No other witness account of the phenomenon was collected. GEIPAN classified the case as D (unexplained): a bright, oval flying object topped by a dome passed quickly overhead, and its nature could not be determined.
