Sighting on September 24, 2004 in Rentree Atmospherique (Côtes-d'Armor, France). According to GEIPAN, it was most probably the atmospheric re-entry of a space object (rocket stage, debris) (class B).

What happened

At around 7:30 a.m., a witness who was in their garden saw a luminous ball "fall" through the sky, followed by a blue trail. Several other witnesses reported the same sighting, which was also covered by the local press.

GEIPAN classified the case as B (probably identified): the observations were most likely of a meteor entering the atmosphere.
