Sighting on December 1, 2001 in Rentree Atmospherique — Poses (Eure, France). According to GEIPAN, it was most probably the atmospheric re-entry of a space object (rocket stage, debris) (class B).

What happened

At about 11:40 p.m., four witnesses saw between 6 and 12 very bright points pass across the sky. The points burned up quickly, and the whole event lasted around fifteen seconds.

The GEIPAN investigation concluded that this was probably an atmospheric re-entry. The case was classified B (probably identified).
