What happened

At around 10:10 p.m., three witnesses saw a luminous phenomenon cross the sky from the northeast to the southwest. They described a bright white disc followed by a long orange trail. The sighting lasted about 5 seconds, and no sound was heard during that time.

The gendarmerie investigation did not turn up any other witnesses. One person said they had seen something, but could not say which day. The GEIPAN classified the case as B: it was most likely a bolide, meaning a meteoroid entering the atmosphere.
