Sighting in Saint-Thibéry, November 17, 2010

Hérault, Occitanie, France

Sighting on November 17, 2010 in Saint-Thibéry (Hérault, France). According to GEIPAN, it was most probably a reflection or photographic artefact (class B).

What happened

A motorist took several photographs with a mobile phone through the window of a moving vehicle at around 9:38 a.m. They noticed nothing unusual at the time. Three months later, while looking at the pictures, they found luminous objects they could not identify. When the photos were taken, the sky was clear and the morning sun was very bright, as one of the photos shows.

The gendarmerie report reached GEIPAN on 8 March 2011, and in it the witness confirmed their earlier observations. The gendarmerie's inquiry turned up no other witnesses.

With no detailed report at the outset and no precise testimony, GEIPAN concluded that the photos most likely showed reflections on the window of one or more objects inside the vehicle. The case was classified B, probably identified.
