Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France

Sighting on July 3, 1982 in Thèze (Pyrénées-Atlantiques, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

A witness was in their kitchen when they noticed, through the window, a flickering orange ball. Its apparent diameter was about 20 cm. The weather was very stormy, and the ball was in front of a cloud formation moving into the area.

The sighting lasted more than a minute. During that time the ball moved quickly and kept the same trajectory, then vanished abruptly.

No further information could be gathered about the phenomenon. GEIPAN classified the case as C, meaning insufficient data, and its conclusion describes the observation of a disc-shaped object moving very fast.
