Sighting in Toulouse, December 13, 2009

Haute-Garonne, Occitanie, France

Sighting on December 13, 2009 in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne, France). According to GEIPAN, it was most probably a light from the ground (searchlight, laser, vehicle…) (class B).

What happened

At around 11 p.m., two witnesses were in their kitchen on the second floor of a building when they noticed several bluish halos of light in the sky, five or six according to the case conclusion. The sky was overcast. The halos seemed to move in relation to one another, like a ballet, and the two people watched them for a long time.

The GEIPAN investigation concluded that the witnesses had most probably seen the beams of a multi-beam "Sky Tracer" type searchlight. Its elegant and unusual light choreography misled them. The case was classified B, probably identified.
