Sighting in Eauze, November 6, 1994

Gers, Occitanie, France

Sighting on November 6, 1994 in Eauze (Gers, France). GEIPAN considers the phenomenon probably identified (class B).

What happened

During the night of 6 to 7 November, a young girl noticed a round, luminous object in the sky, showing red and white lights. Dull thuds, repeating at regular intervals, went along with the phenomenon. Her grandmother saw it as well.

Based on the description gathered, the GEIPAN concluded that it was probably the beam of an advertising searchlight from a nightclub. The dull thuds were most likely the low frequencies of the club's sound system carrying over to the witnesses. The case was classified B: probably identified.
