Sighting in Labruguière, October 5, 2001

Tarn, Occitanie, France

Sighting on October 5, 2001 in Labruguière (Tarn, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

The witness reported the sighting in 2008, several years after it happened. While out hunting, they noticed a long, transparent tube in the sky, which undulated with the wind. The observation lasted a few minutes. At first the witness thought it was an optical effect. Intrigued, they kept watching the object, which suddenly vanished.

No other witness account was collected for this phenomenon. The description resembles a tubular hot-air balloon of the solar type, but precise information was lacking to confirm this. GEIPAN therefore classified the case as C, for insufficient data.
